What every starter list includes
Task rows carry a starting price, a unit, and a description of what the price covers, checked against published installed-cost guides. Material rows carry a captured cost with no markup and keep package sizes in their names, so a 250 ft spool and a 25-pack read correctly in the catalog. None of the prices are surveyed market medians; they are a starting point to adjust.
How to use a template
- Load the list. In a Pricebookr trial, choose Use this template from the empty catalog or from Settings. Items you already have (matched by name) are skipped, and a snapshot is taken first so the load can be rolled back.
- Set your prices. Edit any starting price, or apply a markup schedule by cost band to reprice the whole list in one run.
- Send it to Jobber. Push the finished price book to Jobber's products and services with the Jobber integration or export it for QuickBooks Online or Housecall Pro. Both need a paid plan.
FAQ
What is a price book template?
A starting list of the tasks and materials a trade sells, each with a price, unit, and scope. A shop loads it instead of building a catalog from scratch, then adjusts the prices to its own costs and market.
Which trades have a Pricebookr starter list?
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Each list has flat-rate service tasks with starting prices plus materials that load at cost with no markup.
Can I use a template with Jobber?
Yes. Load the list in Pricebookr, adjust prices or apply a markup schedule, and push it to Jobber's products and services. Writing to Jobber needs a paid plan.
