Jobber integration guide

This is the full path from a connected Jobber account to prices your techs quote from: import, decide how each item is priced, then push back. Budget 30–45 minutes for a real catalog — most of it spent deciding, not clicking.

You need to be an admin in Pricebookr (the Jobber card, import, and push are admins-only) and to authorize with a Jobber login that can grant access to products & services.

Jobber's current Grow and Plus plans support internal costs and markups. Core and Connect can still receive selling prices and item details. Your costs and pricing calculations stay available in Pricebookr either way. See Jobber plan requirements and cost-sync warnings.

Steps 1–4 work on the free trial. Step 5, pushing back, needs a paid plan — as does exporting the catalog to a file. You can do the whole build first and subscribe when you're ready to send it.

1. Connect

Open Settings → Jobber connection and click Connect Jobber. Approve access on Jobber's consent screen. You should return to a green connected pill showing your Jobber account name.

2. Import

Click Import from Jobber. Pricebookr pulls every product and service — name, description, Product/Service type, the unit price (into your default pricebook), and the cost only when Jobber actually has one. Your first import also switches Jobber sync on for the default pricebook, because that flag is what makes pushing back work; turn it off in Pricebooks if you want the integration one-way.

Run the import a second time as a health check. With nothing changed in Jobber it should report 0 created, 0 updated, everything unchanged.

A $0.00 cost is normal, not a failed import. Jobber services are often priced by market rate with Cost and Markup left at zero. Pricebookr keeps the price you set and excludes the item from cost-based rules until a cost exists.

3. How your prices are held

Each price on the Catalog carries a badge saying how it came to be. This is what decides whether anything will later change it.

BadgeMeaning
manualA person set this number — typed in, bulk-edited, or imported from Jobber. Directly set prices remain protected. Linked Jobber imports join the markup preview automatically when they have usable costs.
a percentage, e.g. 40%Per-item markup override — the badge shows that item's own markup. Priced from cost at that markup, so it follows cost changes; rule runs leave it alone.
autoGoverned by the pricebook's markup schedule, so it follows cost changes.

Every freshly imported item reads manual, because every one of those prices was set by a human in Jobber. Use the No cost data chip above the catalog to see how many items have no cost at all.

4. Price the catalog

Three routes, and most catalogs use more than one:

To price imported Jobber items from cost, set the bands and choose Preview on catalog. Eligible linked imports appear in the ordinary before-and-after preview automatically, and applying it puts them on the schedule. Items with no cost, and items no band covers, are skipped and keep their current price. For prices set directly in Pricebookr, click the manual badge for one item or use Manual → schedule… for many.

If the markup preview shows no changes, check the reasons it lists: fixed prices are protected, items need costs, and their costs must match a band. Use Adjust selling prices to change existing prices without costs.

5. Push back and verify

  1. In Settings → Pricebooks, confirm Jobber sync is ticked on each book you want in Jobber. The default book pushes clean names; other books get their own copy per item, named Item name (Book name).
  2. Click Push prices to Jobber and choose Push changed. Pricebookr pushes only genuine differences; Push all forces everything and is much slower.
  3. Open an item in Jobber and compare its selling price and details. If your account supports costs and markups, compare those too. If Pricebookr reports that quote margins is unavailable, the price and details sync while any existing Jobber internal cost and markup stay unchanged.

For a single correction later, use the Sync button on that item's Catalog row.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhy, and what to do
No pricebook is set to sync to Jobber…No pricebook has Jobber sync on. Tick it in Settings → Pricebooks. Until you do, both Push prices to Jobber and the per-row Sync button stay disabled and say the same on hover.
Quote margins is unavailableJobber cannot accept internal cost writes on the connected account. Pricebookr syncs selling prices and item details and reports a warning; costs stay in Pricebookr. If an older audit entry shows a failed push with this error, refresh Pricebookr and retry the item's Sync button. If you expect costs to sync too, check your Jobber plan and Costs setting; see cost-sync requirements.
Applied markups to 0 item(s)Items may lack costs, fall outside every band, already match the schedule, or be deliberate hand-set overrides. Linked Jobber imports with usable costs are included automatically. The preview names each skipped group before you apply.
A cost you entered reads $0.00 againAn import can't do this. The likelier cause is a bulk cost Preview that was never applied — Preview shows the result without saving it.
Duplicate items named like Bin cleaning (Wholesale)Those are the Jobber copies for a non-default pricebook. Re-run the import; it recognises the suffix, merges them back, and reports how many.
only an admin can connect JobberThe connection resolved to a non-admin, usually from a marketplace install. Sign in as an admin and connect from Settings.
invalid or expired stateThe handshake token is older than 15 minutes. Click Connect Jobber again and approve promptly.
The push finished with errors on some itemsJobber rejected those products, usually on validation. The push completes the rest; fix the named items and use their row Sync buttons.
Sending prices to Jobber is included with a paid planYour company is on the free trial. The trial includes everything except writing prices back to Jobber and exporting the catalog. Subscribe under Settings → Billing; your pricebook is untouched and pushes as-is afterwards.
