Getting started with Pricebookr

Pricebookr is your master price book: one place to manage every product and service, set markups by cost band, keep separate price tiers (retail, wholesale, field), and sync it all to Jobber or export to QuickBooks.

Create your account with an email and password, or with Continue with Google or Continue with Apple — either way you land on a 14-day trial. If you plan to use more than one of those, read Sign in with Google or Apple first: connecting them from Settings keeps everything on one account.

Were you invited to join a company that already uses Pricebookr? Open the link in your invitation email instead of signing up here. Signing up creates a separate empty company rather than joining theirs. See Invite your team.

The 15-minute setup

  1. Get your catalog in. Already on Jobber? Go to Settings → Jobber connection, click Connect Jobber, then Import from Jobber to pull your products and services. Otherwise add items with + Item, upload a CSV with Import CSV, or load a trade template from Settings → Starter price lists.
  2. Enter your costs. An item's cost is material cost + labor cost — the parts and the time. Enter them separately in the item editor; the total is what your markups price from. If you only track one number today, put it all in material cost and split the tasks that matter later.
  3. Set your markups. On the Markups tab, set a markup (or margin) for each cost band — e.g. items under $10 get a higher markup than items over $500. Preview, then apply across the catalog. Markups price from cost, so items with no cost are skipped and counted rather than zeroed — price those directly with Bulk edit → price instead.
  4. Add pricebooks if you need them. In Settings → Pricebooks, create a Wholesale or Field pricebook.
  5. Invite your team. On the Members tab, enter each person's email, pick their role, and send an invitation — they don't need an account first. Once they accept, grant per-pricebook access so field techs get the field list and not Wholesale. See Invite your team.
  6. Push it back out. Turn on Jobber sync per pricebook and push, or use the catalog's Export menu for QuickBooks- or Housecall Pro–ready files. This last step is the one that needs a paid plan — steps 1–5 are all included in the trial, so you can build and price the whole book before deciding.

Every change is versioned, so you can review history per item and roll the whole catalog back to any snapshot.
