# Chat with Prycey, your AI assistant

Open **AI Assistant**, next to **Markups**, or use the Prycey chat panel on **Catalog**. You do not need a separate AI account or API key. Prycey uses your current company and your existing permissions.

## Start a conversation

1. If prompted, click **Enable Prycey** to authorize catalog reads and change previews.
2. Read the introduction and click **Got it** to hide it. **About Prycey** brings it back. This preference is remembered for your user and company in this browser.
3. Type in **Message Prycey** and click **Send**, or press Enter. Use Shift+Enter for a new line.
4. Reply in the same box below the conversation if Prycey asks for clarification. Messages appear oldest first, with the latest answer at the bottom.

Try “Which items are missing a cost?” or “What is the Retail price of my 45/5 capacitor?” Prycey uses recent exchanges for follow-up questions; restate the item and pricebook if the context is unclear.

The Catalog panel opens by default. Click its header chevron to minimize it; click again to reopen it. That choice is remembered in this browser.

## Review a change before confirming

Ask for a price change, such as “Add $5 to air filters in Retail.” Prycey prepares a saved proposal. Review the affected items, old and new prices, and any warnings. Load any remaining items before confirming.

Click **Confirm price changes** to start the reviewed change, or **Dismiss** to reject the proposal. Dismissal is saved: refreshing does not restore the confirmation button. Ask for a new proposal if you change your mind. A change already started cannot be dismissed.

A price change can switch a price from its markup schedule to a fixed manual price. Read the proposal's warnings before confirming. Changing prices in Pricebookr does not automatically push them to Jobber.

A Jobber push has a separate review and **Confirm and push to Jobber** button. It follows your Jobber connection, plan and enabled pricebook settings. Only admins can start a push. New Jobber products cannot be undone here.

All members can use Prycey. FIELD members remain read-only; SALES members need edit access to the affected pricebook. Prycey does not manage CRM customers, jobs, quotes, team membership or billing settings.

## Use trial credits or buy more

The balance shows your remaining included and purchased credits. Completed answers show their credit usage. Usage varies with the question and the AI work required; a credit is not a fixed number of questions or provider tokens.

Admins can buy **1,000 credits for $10**, **5,000 for $50**, or **10,000 for $100**. While credits remain, expand **Buy AI credits** at the bottom of the chat. When the allowance is exhausted, available packs appear above the conversation.

Choose a pack, then follow **Continue to Stripe Checkout** and finish payment. Credits arrive after payment is confirmed. Purchases are one-time, with no automatic recharge. A pending checkout is not a completed payment; refunds reduce the available purchased allowance.

You can also [connect an external assistant](https://www.pricebookr.com/docs/connect-claude-or-chatgpt). Its usage is handled by that provider and does not spend these in-app credits. Provider fees and account requirements are separate.

## If something does not work

- **Checkout is pending:** open the full AI Assistant page and use **Continue checkout** in purchase history. Refresh after payment if the balance has not updated.
- **You cannot buy credits:** ask an admin for your company. Purchasing also needs to be enabled for the app.
- **A proposal expired or the catalog changed:** ask Prycey for a fresh preview. Review the new values before confirming.
- **A change partly completed:** read its completed, skipped and failed counts before trying again. Do not assume every row changed.
- **Access was revoked:** review **Settings → AI connections** and enable Prycey again if offered.
